Youth/Family Introduction to Skeet Shooting Course
At Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center one of our greatest pleasures is to introduce newcomers to the sport of skeet shooting. But many people who are new to the sport, or shooting in general, aren't comfortable just throwing themselves into it. That's why we have developed a skeet shooting course for adults (18 and over) as well as a Youth Camp tailored for children (10 to 17) and their parents. 
A number of our center members, with many years of skeet shooting experience, generously volunteer their time to serve as instructors and mentors for the courses. Center members Mark Polek, Paul Shapanus, Dana Hood, Alan Kefauver, Tom Herndon, Ron Davis, Jack Bart, Roy Bart and Dave Dimock are certified instructors through the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA). Each course provides instruction on gun safety, shooting etiquette, and proper technique for skeet shooting. And while the course is intended as an introduction to skeet shooting, the program will be tailored to the level of students attending the session. All sessions are held when the facility is closed to regular shooting activities so students attending the courses can learn in a controlled, safe, and welcoming environment. And each course is separate so individuals can sign up for as many sessions they feel are needed. 
The Youth Camp is held on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:00 pm - 8:00
pm at the Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center. Parents are welcome to sign up and
take the course with their children. The price per session is $40.00 and includes
instruction, targets, ammunition, and use of a club shotgun. Exact change or check is
required for payment as we cannot process credit cards for this program.
